ITMCFM hosted training for the Economic Crime Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office (FIU) and supervisory authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 19 through 21, reaching out to Rosfinmonitoring (FIU Russia) operational experts for best Russian practices on AML/CFT risk-based supervision.
The course agenda included:
- Institutional and legal basis for AML/CFT supervision in the Russian Federation;
- Risk-based approach to supervisory activities;
- Risk-based approach and sectoral risk assessments; experience of sectoral risk assessments in the Russian Federation;
- Assessing ML/TF risks for precious metals and stones dealers, real estate market, and other reporting entities.
The Uzbekistan attendees appreciated the opportunity to build operational knowledge and share national expertise; all attendees received certificates upon completion of the course.
