Yet another EAG competition among representatives from financial institutions for best AML/CFT financial analysis was held within the scope of the IV International Olympiad on Financial Security in the Sirius federal territory.
The competition now a well-established tradition, provides a platform for the private sector from EAG member states to share their best practices in investigating suspicious transactions and to develop more efficient methods for detecting and preventing financial crimes.
In 2024, cases of financial analysis of banks from Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan were submitted for participation in the competition. These cases were presented to the Competition committee members and the audience represented by students and staff from the International Network Institute at the Sirius University platform.
The Competition committee, consisting of representatives from each EAG member state and a representative from the EAG Secretariat, carefully evaluated each submission. They selected one winner and two laureates in the Best Financial Analysis in AML/CFT category.
The competition winner was a representative from ATAIX Eurasia Ltd crypto exchange (Kazakhstan). The laureate nominations were awarded to representatives from compliance divisions of the International Bank of Tajikistan (Tajikistan) and ACB Rysgal (Turkmenistan).
The Competition audience voted for the Audience Choice award, which went to a representative from Rosbank PJSC (Russia).
The awards ceremony for the competition winner, laureates, and the Audience Choice prize recipient will take place at the upcoming 41st Plenary Meeting of the EAG in Indore, India, in November 2024.
