ITMCFM hosted a week-long training course for the representatives of Saudi Arabia’s financial intelligence unit

The training course for Saudi Arabia’s financial intelligence officers concluded at ITMCFM.

A 5-day training program was focused on capacity increase of the Saudi Arabia’s national AML/CFT system, and familiarization of trainees with the structure of the AML/CFT system and the best experience of the Russian Federation in conducting financial investigations. Besides, the trainees got acquainted with the technological innovations used to enhance capacity of financial intelligence officers.

Rosfinmonitoring experts presented the following relevant topics to their foreign colleagues:

• approaches to assessing and managing supranational risks at the IRAC;

• requirements of international standards when applying risk-based supervision in the field of AML/CFT;

• goals and tools for sectoral risk assessments;

• features of international and interagency cooperation in supervision;

• open-source information search, building an AML/CFT system in the cryptocurrency sector and the specifics of identifying cryptocurrency transactions;

• implementation of Recommendation 6 and 7 in national anti-money laundering systems.

ITMCFM experts shared their experience in using IT technologies and tools that increase the FIU efficiency and the potential of the International Network AML/CFT Institute’s students involved in training programs. In addition, the practical capabilities of the Transparent Blockchain analytical tool and Graphus training system were presented to the participants.

The participants received certificates upon training completion.
