New Generation 2024 program

The New Generation 2024 platform brought together representatives from eight countries: Azerbaijan, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Iran, UAE, and Thailand.

During their five-day stay in the Russian capital, participants visited Rosfinmonitoring, the ITMCFM, the Treasury of Russia, the Federal Tax Service of Russia, and the Bank of Russia. They were able to share their experience with experts of the Russian anti-money laundering system, representatives of government agencies, and those from the banking sector.

Russian financial intelligence officers held interactive lectures, a roundtable discussion on approaches to assessing ML/TF risks at the supranational level, and gave a master class on using the Transparent Blockchain digital service to monitor cryptocurrency transactions. Representatives from foreign FIUs shared best practices in international information exchange and discussed ways to enhance human resource capacities within national anti-money laundering systems, address ML/TF risks associated with digital currencies, and counter illegal activities in the financial market.

At the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring, program participants were introduced to the Graphus training system, which was demonstrated by experts of the Centre through a case study involving an AML/CFT offense investigation.

The extensive cultural program, organized at the end of each day, included visits to VDNKh (Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy), the Tretyakov Gallery, and the Red Square. In addition, participants took part in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.

The New Generation program, now in its second year, is implemented by the Federal Financial Monitoring Service in collaboration with the ITMCFM and Rossotrudnichestvo. Last year, the event was attended by experts from the financial intelligence agencies of the CIS countries.
