CHFIUs, CIS ATC, EAG and ITMCFM joined training on combating terrorism and extremism financing for law enforcement officers

CHFIUs, CIS ATC, EAG and ITMCFM joint workshop on advanced training on combating terrorism and extremism financing for law enforcement officers started in Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan).

The training course for representatives of security agencies and financial intelligence units will last two days.

The first day program consisted of lectures followed by practical assignments:

  • The trainees considered the practical aspects of identifying and documenting AML/CFT crimes involving cryptocurrency, and learnt techniques for cryptocurrency transactions analysis.
  • As part of practical assignments, law enforcement and financial intelligence officers conducted a cryptocurrency terrorism financing transactions analysis in a business game format using special software and open Internet sources, as well as discussed the results obtained.

The second day of the workshop will be dedicated to expert presentations on threats posed by terrorist activities, as well as to joint discussions and experience sharing.
