Kirill Groshikov and Ivan Anisimov, representatives of Rosfinmonitoring, participated in the Asia and Pacific Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice held from January 21 to 23.
The event took place at the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Bangkok, Thailand, and brought together representatives from more than 20 countries' relevant ministries and agencies.
Rosfinmonitoring delegates presented the latest legislative updates to Russia’s anti-money laundering and terrorist financing system, shared best anti-money laundering practices, and discussed insights into identifying emerging terrorist financing methods.
Ivan Anisimov highlighted Russia’s experience in detecting terrorist financing techniques, particularly emphasizing the development of an information bulletin on the activities of terrorist groups, a project implemented within the framework of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG).
Participants at the meeting underscored the importance of international collaboration in identifying global terrorist financing networks and combating this global threat.
