On January 22, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation launched a pilot project to promote Russian cultural and historical legacy among members of the International Movement on Financial Security. The initiative involves Yury Chikhanchin, Head of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring).
The event brought together school, college, and university students, Movement Ambassadors, as well as representatives of the expert, academic, and banking communities, alongside employees of Rosfinmonitoring and the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, greeted the participants:
“The International Movement on Financial Security was established in Russia on the initiative of President Vladimir Putin. It has been actively growing and now unites over six million people from 36 countries. Today, we are launching a pilot project to promote Russian cultural and historical legacy among the participants of our Movement. While the financial security system is based on figures and legislative regulation, it is ultimately people — guided by their values, morals, and culture of cooperation — who ensure financial security,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
Speaking at the opening, Yury Chikhanchin highlighted the educational mission of the International Movement on Financial Security and the importance of promoting Russian historical and spiritual legacy among young people from diverse countries and regions.
“The cultural and historical legacy of our Motherland is something we must cherish and protect. It is heartening to see that the participants of the International Olympiad on Financial Security are united by shared spiritual and moral values, guided by the Movement Ambassadors. Over the years, nearly six million students and experts from various countries have participated in the Olympiad. In 2025, we look forward to welcoming our esteemed guests at the competitive stages of the fifth, anniversary Olympiad,” said Yury Chikhanchin.
Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, expressed the university’s commitment to playing an active role in the development of the Movement. He noted that the pilot project would involve approximately 600 school students and 2,000 college and university students from Russia and beyond.
Ekaterina Kameneva, Vice-Rector of the Financial University and Head of the Center for the Formation of the Spiritual and Moral Environment of the Olympiad and the Movement on Financial Security, outlined the stages of the project.
The opening ceremony also featured speeches by Natalia Parshikova, Deputy Head of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko; Vladimir Muzhelsky, Head of Non-Banking Services Development at Promsvyazbank PJSC; and Father Ioan, Rector of the Sretensky Theological Academy.
Following the official program, guests were invited to tour the Financial University. Participants also attended sessions at the Sretensky Theological Academy.
The project is being implemented by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in collaboration with the Sretensky Theological Academy supported by the Khristianskoye Miloserdiye Charitable Foundation and overseen by Rosfinmonitoring.
The International Movement on Financial Security was established in Moscow in September 2024 and now unites young people from over 70 countries. The idea for the Movement was first proposed by Augusto Lemmertz, a student from Brazil, during a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the finalists of the III International Olympiad on Financial Security in October 2023 (known as the “Augusto Initiative”).
