The Interagency AML/CFT/CPF Commission (AIC) met at the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring, Russia’s FIU) on Wednesday, October 16.
The meeting was chaired by Yury Chikhanchin, Chairman of the AIC and Director of Rosfinmonitoring.
The event brought together officials from relevant ministries, law enforcement and supervisory agencies, and the ITMCFM. The audience heard from the Legal Department and the Counter-Terrorism Financing Department of Rosfinmonitoring, the Bank of Russia, Roskomnadzor and the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
The participants discussed the results of sectoral risk assessments, including those performed by the federal postal service organizations, telecom operators, lottery operators and gambling organizers, and the progress made in implementing the action plan to mitigate ML/TF risks, as well as some other issues.
The meeting also included an awards ceremony with a number of state and ministry-level awards given out.
