As part of the III International Financial Security Olympiad, Yury Chikhanchin, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, met with pupils of Moscow school No. 1529 named after A. Griboyedov. Pupils from the Donetsk People's Republic joined the event via videoconferencing.
Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Department of Education and Science, Alexander Molotkov, and Principal of School No. 1529, Marina Solovyeva took part in the event.
In his welcome speech, the Head of Rosfinmonitoring noted the high level of regional coverage by Olympiad movement. "We have formed a powerful school community, a unified educational space. More and more enthusiastic children from all over the country and partner states are joining the Olympiad," said Yury Chikhanchin.
In his video address, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitriy Chernyshenko, added that 7 countries took part in the first Olympiad, and 15 countries will join the event in 2023. He also emphasized that "for children, victory in the Olympiad is a great chance to fulfil their dreams and get into a relevant university without exams, and for the state - to obtain professionals in economics and finance."
The Director of Rosfinmonitoring told pupils about the last year’s Olympiad and innovations introduced this year. Some of the children present had an experience of taking part in the Olympiad, including those being winners and prize-winners.
Head of Legal Department, Olga Tisen, discussed with senior pupils the rules of safe behaviour on the Internet. As active Internet users from an early age, the children found the topic interesting and much in demand.
At the end of the event, Yury Chikhanchin answered pupils’ questions. The children were interested in how to become a financial intelligence officer, how to combat fraudsters, how to qualify for the Olympiad and many other aspects of financial security.
