The "Education and Career in AML/CFT" exhibition was held at the Tashkent State University of Law from 28 February to 1 March. It was organized by the International Network AML/CFT Institute in cooperation with the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring and the Department on Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The first day of the event was devoted to working meetings.
At the multilateral meeting, representatives of ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and ITMCFM discussed the 2023-2024 admission campaign of Russian universities, the III International Financial Security Olympiad and the introduction of the training system "Graphus" into the INI universities’ academic programs. On the part of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Department on Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Center for the Development of Higher Education and the Introduction of Advanced Technologies in the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation) in Uzbekistan participated in the discussion.
Representatives of the ITMCFM and the INI’s member universities discussed development prospects of higher vocational AML/CFT programs at the INI’s universities in Uzbekistan, preparation of a textbook on the national AML/CFT system of Uzbekistan, introduction of the "Graphus" training system into the educational process of the INI’s universities, as well as organization of a thematic lesson on financial security and the events of the III International Financial Security Olympiad.
The second day of the event, March 1, 2023, brought together students eager to learn about training in financial security areas at the Tashkent State University of Law.
At the opening ceremony, held in a festive atmosphere, S. Artikova, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan, S. Buzrukhonov, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I. Shilina, Deputy Director General of the ITMCFM, M. Vozhdaev, Head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and I. Rustambekov, Acting Rector of the Tashkent State University of Law addressed the future financial intelligence officers with parting words.
A program, prepared for the young guests of the "Education and Career in AML/CFT" Exhibition, includes the following:
- exhibition stand space of the INI member universities;
- presentations and videos illustrating the specifics of financial intelligence officers’ work;
- lectures and workshops delivered by representatives of the FIU of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the INI member universities on the following topics: financial security and financial literacy as its driving force, digital economy, artificial intelligence, specifics of strategic analysis;
- interactive and educational games;
- team competition to conduct financial investigation on the "Graphus" training simulator
The students showed great interest in the virtual investigation of financial crime, which they conducted under the leadership of ITMCFM experts. The best teams in two sessions were from the Tashkent State University of Economics and the Law Enforcement Academy, whose participants received the winners' diplomas.
