ITMCFM hosted the Executive Director of the National Centre for Financial Information, Mr. Abdul Rahman Amur Al-Kiyumi, within the visit of the Omani delegation to Russia.
ITMCFM Director General Ivan Uvarov introduced Centre's capabilities to improve the human resource capacity of the national AML/CFT systems, including:
- in-person trainings for financial intelligence officers of Russia's partner states
- distance learning events via videoconferencing
- courses and educational tracks conducted through ITMCFM Distance Learning System
- joint programmes to prepare countries for new rounds of FATF and WGTA mutual evaluations.
Among other things, Mr. Uvarov outlined the development of the International Olympiad on Financial Security, which saw the participation of an Omani team last year, with one of the students winning the prize in the Economics nomination.
The parties discussed possible areas of interaction and expressed hope for further fruitful co-operation.
