On June 10, 2022, a coordination meeting of representatives of the Anti-Money Laundering Office of the Central Bank of the Lao People s Democratic Republic and the ITMCFM was held at the ITMCFM via videoconferencing.
On behalf of the Lao People s Democratic Republic, the event was attended by the General Director of the Anti-Money Laundering Office of the Central Bank of the Lao People s Democratic Republic Phengsi Phengmuong, Deputy Director General of the Anti-Money Laundering Office of the Central Bank of the Lao People s Democratic Republic Nanta Fommavongsa, senior staff and employees of the Anti-Money Laundering Office of the Central Bank of the Lao People s Democratic Republic.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the issues of technical assistance provided by the ITMCFM to the financial intelligence units of Russia s partner states and the priority needs of the Lao People s Democratic Republic in providing technical assistance. Representatives of the ITMCFM presented the AML/CFT electronic services and educational programs for AML/CFT training of law enforcement agencies and supervisory authorities, which are implemented with the use of the iSpring distance learning system and in the videoconferencing mode.
Special attention at the meeting was paid to the issue of training of foreign citizens in the Russian International Network AML/CFT Institute’s member universities under the quota of Rosfinmonitoring. Representatives of the Lao People s Democratic Republic expressed their interest in cooperation in this area, noting the successful training experience of their students in the Russian higher education system.
Following the results of the coordination meeting, the participants agreed to send additional detailed information and materials to the Lao People s Democratic Republic for familiarization and organization of further interaction.
