On April 11, a two-day in-person workshop "The Role of Anti-Terrorist Financing Mechanisms in Building Regional Security within Shanghai Cooperation Organization" began. It is organized with ITMCFM support and is intended for representatives of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The participants were welcomed at the opening ceremony by State Secretary - Deputy Director of Rosfinmonitoring, German Neglyad, Sergey Pisany, Deputy Director of the SCO RATS Executive Committee, Sergey Pisany, and First Deputy Director General of the ITMCFM, Oleg Ivanov. They mentioned the relevance of counter-terrorism, taking into account the current international situation, and the importance of avoiding the involvement of Member States financial systems in illicit activities.
On the workshop’s first day two round table sections were held:
- Section 1. Global Trends in Terrorism and Terrorist Financing
- Section 2. The Use of Formal and Informal Channels of Terrorist Financing.
