On September 29, 2022, a workshop “Countering the financing of terrorist and extremist activities” was held via videoconferencing. More than 300 employees of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia took part in it.
The event organized by the ITMCFM is aimed at increasing the level of interagency cooperation and the effectiveness of the national anti-money laundering system.
Specialists from Rosfinmonitoring acted as invited expert lecturers. The participants were told about the role of Rosfinmonitoring in the national system of combating the financing of terrorism, as well as about its capabilities in conducting financial investigations into specified crimes. The issues of economic and criminal schemes for financing terrorist and extremist activities, as well as methods for identifying persons involved in this activity and using digital currency in such schemes were also discussed.
