Workshop "Risk Assessment of the Non-Profit Organizations Sector"

On August 11, 2022 in Minsk (Republic of Belarus), the three-day international workshop "Risk Assessment of the Non-Profit Organizations Sector", aimed at exchanging experience and best practices between the competent authorities of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member States on countering the use of non-profit organizations for the financing of terrorism, completed its work. The training was organized by the International Training and Methodology Center for Financial Monitoring.

The event was attended by representatives of state bodies, financial monitoring bodies of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member States, as well as representatives of non-profit organizations, bringing the total number to 114 participants.

During the lectures of international experts, the students examined the issues of effective interaction of non-profit organizations with government agencies in the field of AML/CFT, as well as the experience of countries and practical examples of countering the use of non-profit organizations for the purpose of financing terrorism.

Special attention was paid to the round tables, during which the workshop participants were given the opportunity to directly exchange views with experts, as well as with representatives of foreign delegations, in order to borrow the experience of colleagues to improve the effectiveness of the national anti-money laundering system.

The participants highly appreciated the level of organization of the international workshop, and also expressed interest in holding workshop training events on the subject of AML/CFT in the future.
