Workshop "Non-Profit Organization Risk Assessment"

On August 9, 2022, a three-day workshop “Non-Profit Organization Risk Assessment” started in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).

The problem of financing terrorism through non-profit organizations is now acquiring an international scope. In this regard, it is especially important to timely identify and mitigate the risks of NPOs involvement in criminal activities.

The face-to-face event organized by the ITMCFM was attended by representatives of financial intelligence units, other interested bodies and the private sector of the CIS CHFIUs member states: Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan and Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the opening, the guests were welcomed by Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus V. Reut, Head of the Legal Department of Rosfinmonitoring O. Tisen, Advisor to the CIS Executive Committee I. Malashevich, assistant to the head of the CIS CHFIUs Secretariat Yu. Denisova and Head of the ITMCFM Project Implementation Department Yu. Marchenko.

During three days, the workshop participants will attend the lectures from international experts, consider issues of effective interaction between non-profit organizations and government agencies in the field of AML/CFT, as well as country experience and practical examples of countering the use of non-profit organizations for the purpose of terrorism financing.
