On September 23, 2022, the workshop "ML/TF Risk Assessment Related to Remote Identification and Digital Financial Technologies” was held at the ITMCFM.
The workshop and further discussions were attended by employees of financial intelligence units, supervisory authorities, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders, as well as by representatives of the private sector from the EAG member states: the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Invited expert lecturer – Candidate of Economic Sciences, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and banking expert M. Karataev – familiarized the participants with the updating of the assessment of ML/TF risks arising from the use of new or emerging technologies for the provision of services, including remote identification of customers by primary financial monitoring subjects.
In conclusion, a round table was held, where participants were able to share their country experience and get acquainted with the best practices on the workshop topic.
