On September 30, within the scope of the IV International Olympiad on Financial Security’s program, a panel discussion titled "Conversations on Key Issues: The Future of Financial Security is Us!" was held for the schoolchildren finalists.
The schoolchildren had the opportunity to meet Yury Chikhanchin, Director of Rosfinmonitoring, Nikolay Zhuravlev, Deputy Chair of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and Anatoly Seryshev, Presidential Plenipotentiary to the Siberian Federal District. The discussion was moderated by Marina Shemiakina, Head of the Center for Inter-Olympiad Training of Schoolchildren and Students of the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
The schoolchildren posed a variety of questions, such as: What qualities should one develop from a young age to achieve professional success? How are new technologies applied in financial intelligence? Are internships at Rosfinmonitoring available for students? Participants from nine federal districts and 36 regions of the Russian Federation engaged in the discussion.
As Yury Chikhanchin noted, financial intelligence specialists must possess a high level of expertise, be broadminded, and have strong communication skills.
“Our Olympiad is a multidisciplinary event — it encompasses computer science, economics, finance, international law, and IT. All of this knowledge is essential. Additionally, a financial intelligence specialist must also be a good psychologist and sociologist, able to understand people and build relationships effectively,” Yury Chikhanchin said.
The meeting covered topics such as the role of youth in shaping their future and the future of their country, the importance of family values, and the significance of teachers in one’s life. The students observed that a true teacher and mentor embodies qualities such as kindness, patience, empathy, fairness, and passion for their work.
