Regular Meeting of Executive Committee of International Financial Security Olympiad

Under the chairmanship of Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, a regular meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Financial Security Olympiad for students and schoolchildren was convened. During the event, the outcomes of an interim stage were reviewed, and the arrangements for the final competition were discussed.

Pursuant to the instruction of President Vladimir Putin, the International Financial Security Olympiad is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Federal Financial Monitoring Service. The primary aim of this initiative is to enhance the informational, financial, and legal literacy of young people, identify young talents, and proactively thwart criminal activity and extremism.

A total of 24,600 participants from 19 countries registered for the preliminary (university) phase of the Olympiad, which was held during the preceding spring.

  • 8,643 students from Russia;
  • 2,878 students from CIS countries;
  • 638 students from far abroad countries;
  • 12,441 Russian schoolchildren.

The testing phase was successfully completed by over 6.5 thousand students and 2.2 thousand schoolchildren from Russia, in addition to more than 2.2 thousand foreign students. Based on the results of completed tasks, participants were classified in a rating table.

Due to the high interest to take part in the Olympiad among citizens of friendly countries, the Executive Committee proactively decided to reassign quotas designated for foreign participants. A list of finalists will be formed based on the outcomes of an upcoming qualifying stage scheduled for August.

Following the resolution of the Executive Committee, preparations for the Olympiad finals have started. Sirius Federal Territory will host the Olympiad final stage in the forthcoming autumn. The program will include test assignments, interactions with distinguished experts, athletic competitions, workshops, seminars, master classes, meetings with prospective employers, roundtable and panel discussions, debates and creative sessions. Winners of this competition will not only gain benefits for admission to specialized higher education institutions, Master s, and PhD programs but will also be provided with prospects to find a dream job in the esteemed field of financial security.
