As part of the Moscow Urban Forum 2023, ITMCFM and the Department of Education of Moscow hosted a cyber-tournament using the Graphus training system.
Ms. Marina Shemyakina, Deputy Head of ITMCFM Department, welcomed the participants:
“Today, you will have the opportunity to try yourselves in the role of financial intelligence officers. You will gain insights into information analysis, data collection, search techniques, and data classification. Ultimately, you will uncover the parties involved in a money laundering scheme.”
Forum attendees were divided into six teams, comprising both newcomers eager to explore the role of financial intelligence officers and young individuals already acquainted with the Graphus system, who attended the cyber quest with specific intent.
Players reviewed analytical schemes, connections between entities (individuals and organizations), and the characteristics of their relationships. The Center’s experts demonstrated the capabilities of the Graphus training system, using training cases as an example, and then tasked the participants with investigating a financial crime.
Participants commended the engaging and visually comprehensible presentation of financial investigation and expressed their interest in exploring other Graphus cases. Following the cyber tournament, all teams that successfully resolved their respective cases received commemorative gifts from ITMCFM.
