The conference of the International Network AML/CFT Institute (INI) on the topic "International Financial Security Olympiad: experience, tasks for 2022" took place

On March 15, 2022, the conference of the International Network AML/CFT Institute on the topic "International Financial Security Olympiad: experience, tasks for 2022" began its work.

The event was attended by employees of Rosfinmonitoring, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the International Training and Methodology Center for Financial Monitoring, INI member universities (21 Russian and 12 foreign universities) and financial intelligence units from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

D. Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, V. Glotov, Deputy Director of Rosfinmonitoring, O. Koludarova, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy in the Field of Upbringing, Supplementary Education and Children s Recreation under the Ministry of Education of Russia addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech.

D. Afanasyev: – We are laying down the rules and traditions of the Financial Security Olympiad for years to come. Therefore, the success factor both last year and in the future, it seems to me, is that a team of highly professional, interested colleagues representing financial intelligence practitioners, the university community and, now we can say so, a team of participants and winners of the first Olympiad are united around this idea.

V. Glotov: – The initiative to expand the boundaries of the Olympiad movement and attract new participants has been supported. Rosfinmonitoring has studied the issue concerning the invitation of the Republic of Armenia and the BRICS countries to join our Olympiad movement. These states supported the initiative of the Russian Federation, expressed their readiness to participate in the Olympiad and assured that they would assist their universities in holding the first and second rounds of the Olympiad.

O. Koludarova: – The Financial Security Olympiad is one of the development vectors for studying the basics of financial literacy and entrepreneurship among children. When we reviewed the last year’s statistics, we saw that almost 1 million 400 thousand pupils from more than 19 thousand schools took part in the All-Russian Thematic Financial Security Lesson. A good half of the schools in the constituent entities of Russia responded to such a lesson. This means that the topic is relevant, in demand, and we will continue to jointly implement this event in the future.

The conference participants will discuss the preparation areas for conducting the thematic lesson "Financial Security" in 2022 and the first and second stages of the International Financial Security Olympiad, as well as the organization of educational exhibitions of the International Network AML/CFT Institute in the EAG member states.

The conference will end on March 16, 2022.
