ITMCFM Presented Projects of the International Network AML/CFT Institute at Al-Azhar University in the Arab Republic of Egypt

On June 3, 2024, the ITMCFM delegation visited one of the three oldest universities in the world (Al-Azhar University in Cairo, founded in 998) as part of the Education and Career in AML/CFT exhibition held in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The working meeting began with welcoming speeches by Vice-President of the University, Professor, Dr. Mahmoud Seddiq Hassan and ITMCFM Deputy Director General Irina Shilina. The ITMCFM team, representatives of the Departments of Economics, Information, Natural Sciences and Humanities, as well as the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Egypt Anton Lutsik discussed international cooperation between organizations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed training for university faculty at Russia’s INI member universities with professional development certificate upon program completion, as well as offline cooperation in AML/CFT personnel training and the opening of the Russian Language Department.

The ITMCFM delegation presented joint projects of the International Network AML/CFT Institute (INI) and invited the University to join the INI, familiarized the participants with educational IT products, i.e. Graphus and Transparent Blockchain training programs for analysts to conduct AML/CFT financial investigations.

ITMCFM provided the Al-Azhar University library with textbooks on the International AML/CFT/CPF System and Financial Security journal.

Besides, the ITMCFM delegation visited the Russian House in Cairo. Its representative Denis Bronnikov conducted a study tour and told about the events held in the Russian House. To promote Russia’s financial security and AML/CFT education in Egyptian universities, the ITMCFM representatives presented teaching aids and training manuals to the Russian House in Cairo, including materials on education in Russian INI universities, the textbook on International AML/CFT/CPF System and Financial Security journal, as well as presentation and training materials to conduct a thematic Lesson on Financial Security.
