On October 10, 2022, “Sirius” Park of Science and Art opened its doors for 500 finalists - Russian pupils and students from the EAG and BRICS countries. This year, the International Financial Security Olympiad brought together young people from Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, South Africa, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. And almost 40 thousand people applied for participation in the qualifying round of the Olympiad.
Throughout the week, until October 14, 2022, meetings with potential employers, discussions with experts in the field of financial security, various master classes, sports competitions, excursions, tournaments and project work await the guests of the Olympiad.
On the first day of the final stage, at the opening ceremony, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation for Civil Service and Personnel Affairs A. Lavrenko read out the welcome speech of the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin. Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yu. Chikhanchin, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation N. Zhuravlev, Chairman of the Federal Territory "Sirius", Head of the Fund "Talent and Success" E. Shmeleva, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation M. Kotyukov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation D. Afanasiev, First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow Ms. Liu Cao, Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zh. Elimanov delivered a speech for the participants and guests.
Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yu. Chikhanchin: “The II International Financial Security Olympiad is a very significant event. We are pleased to note that schools and universities are interested in studying the field of financial literacy and financial security. The number of participants in the competition is growing, more than 3 million pupils and students from 12 EAG, CIS and BRICS countries have already joined the Olympiad movement.”
Today, 6 panel discussions and over 10 master classes with representatives of Russian and foreign ministries and agencies, as well as with experts from the banking sector and industrial partners were prepared for the participants. In particular, a conference on financial literacy, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, was held on the margins of the final stage of the Olympiad and for the first time the contest “The Best Examples of Financial Analysis: How Compliance Services of Banks Do It” was held.
ITMCFM experts held a master class on investigating financial crimes via the “Graphus” training platform for students from the BRICS countries. The participants understood how the shadow money-laundering scheme operates, and as a result, they were able to identify the main defendants of the case. The participants of the master class approached the process with great interest and asked many clarifying questions in order to find out all the details of the crime.
Tomorrow will be one of the most exciting and responsible days for the finalists - the day of solving Olympiad tasks that will help determine the winners and prize-winners who have the deepest knowledge in the field of financial security.
