Rosfinmonitoring Director Yury Chikhanchin chaired the 22nd Session of the International Network AML/CFT Institute (INI) and the International Movement on Financial Security Conference conducted on May 27 on the margins of the 42nd EAG Plenary Week.
The Institute Board discussed with the expert community the current progress in creating a single AML/CFT educational space, major projects such as the V International Olympiad on Financial Security to be held in the city of Krasnoyarsk, and developing the International Movement on Financial Security.
Director Chikhanchin, addressing the Government Monitor of the International Movement on Financial Security Natalia Parshikova, ITMCFM General Director Ivan Uvarov, First Deputy ITMCFM General Director and INI Director Vladimir Ovchinnikov, PSB Bank Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer Ekaterina Kuzmina, and heads of INI member organizations, highlighted the importance of this work:
“To raise a financially literate new generation, our projects need to ensure maximum coverage across young communities. Such initiatives as the traditional Lesson on Financial Security, an ever stronger network of national financial security Olympiads, and the more and more popular International Dictation on Financial Security, need to work together as key enablers of broader success.”
Natalia Parshikova focused on the role the Movement under her monitorship is playing to create the right environment for keeping young communities resilient to the influence of financial crime, a major challenge of modern times.
Vladimir Ovchinnikov reported the current progress of the International Movement on Financial Security 2025 Roadmap, and introduced the newly elected Movement Presidium. Supporting such priority projects as Lessons on financial Security and the International Olympiad on Financial Security requires cohesion across the Movement, he said:
“To organize effective and coherent promotion of our initiative, the Movement needs to run a network of permanent representatives. I suggest that universities, INI members, should consider creating such units. We will also work with government authorities and financial industry, using such fora as BRICS, SCO, EAG, and other multilateral gatherings to make the Movement ever more popular.”
Rectors of leading INI universities from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan reported to the Board their current work on the pre-final rounds of the 2025 International Olympiad and their respective national financial security Olympiads, putting forward proposals on further development of the Movement.
Ekaterina Kuzmina of PSB Bank, the developer of Sodruzhestvo, the digital platform behind the Movement, reported on the current progress and further plans.
The Board also added four new universities to the INI roster: the Bashkir Civil Service and Governance Academy of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan; the State University of Osh (Kyrgyzstan), the International Tourism and Enterprise University (Tajikistan); and the Astana IT University (Kazakhstan).
