International Financial Security Conference Held at Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia

On September 22, Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia hosted an International Financial Security Conference focused on sharing expertise and identifying ways to enhance the financial security system at both national and global levels.

The event was opened by Mr. Yury Chikhanchin, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, and Mr. Oleg Yastrebov, Rector of the Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.

Mr. Vladimir Ovchinnikov, ITMCFM First Deputy Director General-Director of the International Network AML/CFT Institute, emphasized the significance of a comprehensive approach to training financial security professionals:

“Financial security is a prerequisite for stable development, encompassing a broad range of challenges, including individual, family, household, corporate, organizational, state, and global security. Addressing these issues necessitates a knowledge system spanning finance, economics, national and international law. That is why, a decade ago, the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, established the International Network AML/CFT Institute. Today, INI stands as a unified community of students, faculty, and practitioners. It represents a unified and the only educational platform in Eurasia dedicated to the training of professionals in the fields of anti-money laundering and financial security.”

During the conference, participants engaged in discussions covering various topics, including the development of international cooperation in the area of financial security, current challenges and threats, innovative methods for combatting financial fraud and corruption, and the implementation of technologies to ensure the cyber security of financial institutions.
