Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee for preparing and holding the V International Olympiad on Financial Security in 2025.
It was attended by Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service Yury Chikhanchin, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasiev, Governor of the Krasnoyask Region Mikhail Kotyukov, Acting President of Siberian Federal University Maksim Rumyantsev, Director General of the National Priorities Autonomous Non-Profit Organization Sofia Malyavina, and representatives of other interested agencies and organizations.
Mr. Chernyshenko noted that the Olympiad is held with the support of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and today includes professional, educational, athletic, and cultural-spiritual tracks.
"Less than two weeks remain left until the final stage of the V International Olympiad on Financial Security. For the first time, the final will be hosted in Krasnoyarsk at Siberian Federal University from September 29 to October 3, 2025. Despite global challenges, we not only preserved but also expanded the scale and quality of the Olympiad’s organization. About 600 participants from 40 countries will visit Krasnoyarsk. This year, five new countries – Bangladesh, Jordan, Madagascar, Türkiye, Uruguay – have joined the Olympiad,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
He instructed that a thematic brochure be published in both Russian and English and that a documentary film be produced following the conclusion of the event.
Mr. Chikhanchin highlighted that the professional track would culminate in the Forum of the International Movement on Financial Security, where scientists and experts will engage with the younger generation on emerging digital trends, associated risks, and strategies for mitigation.
"For the first time, during the final week, a second informal meeting with BRICS representatives will be held with the participation of students, providing a platform for experience-sharing in implementing projects within the movement’s unified framework. The further development of the movement, including the use of its scientific and educational potential to address key challenges in financial security, will also be discussed at the meeting of the Council of the International Network AML/CFT Institute," said Mr. Chikhanchin.
Deputy Minister Dmitry Afanasiev, head of the Olympiad’s Executive Committee, added that, in addition to the main competition track, the program would include over 100 educational, cultural, and sporting events, 6 panel discussions, and more than 30 master classes. The business agenda also provides opportunities for expert engagement.
Governor Kotyukov noted that Krasnoyarsk was fully prepared to host the large-scale event.
"All core organizational issues for the Olympiad final – from logistics to accommodations – have been resolved on schedule. We are paying particular attention to safety and medical support for participants. A comprehensive cultural, athletic, and sightseeing program has been developed to introduce guests to Krasnoyarsk. Our project team is working to create a welcoming atmosphere at every venue," noted Mr. Kotyukov.
