On 9 April, the International Network AML/CFT Institute continued its exhibition Education and Career in AML/CFT, hosted by the Tajik State University of Finance and Economics (TSUFE).
The event brought together around 200 school and university students. Representatives of TSUFE, the Department of Financial Monitoring under the National Bank of Tajikistan, ITMCFM and Rossotrudnichestvo (Russian Agency for CIS Cooperation) addressed the guests at the opening of the exhibition.
Irina Shilina, Deputy Director General of ITMCFM, noted that the main goal of the exhibition is to introduce young people to the profession of financial intelligence officer, present the educational programs of INI universities, and showcase opportunities to take part in the International Olympiad on Financial Security.
“Choosing a profession and a future path is one of the key moments in every person’s life. All roads and opportunities are open to you, the younger generation. If you are ready to use your future actions to influence the stable future of your state, we are waiting for you among the professionals in financial security and AML/CFT,” Irina Shilina emphasized.
TSUFE hosted a rich program from leading Russian and Tajik INI universities, including master classes, quests, training sessions and tests:
MFUA held a practical session on training AML/CFT specialists, RUDN University presented the concept of network research centers as an instrument of financial security in the CIS.
Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University shared its experience with specialized educational programs, while the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and PSB Academy focused on new competencies for the intelligence officer of the future.
Tajik universities — TSUFE, TNU, RTSU and the International University of Tourism — presented national experience and joint projects with Russian partners. The program also included quests to find traces of fictitious transactions, tests for career guidance testing, interactive training sessions that brought young people closer to real work in the AML system.
Under the guidance of ITMCFM experts, the students used the Grafus training system to act as real financial intelligence officers and unravel a criminal financial scheme.
A seminar for schoolteachers and university faculty on best methods for teaching a financial security lesson was delivered by the P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute.
Throughout the day, an exhibition space of INI universities was also open, showcasing their programs on economic security, law, and international relations with specialized AML/CFT disciplines.
