On July 20, 2026, the International Summer School on Financial Security opened at Lobachevsky University of Nizhny Novgorod as part of the International Movement on Financial Security. The School will bring together Russian and international students, experts and representatives of relevant organisations to jointly discuss current AML/CFT challenges.
The opening ceremony included welcome addresses by Yury Chikhanchin, Director of Rosfinmonitoring; Viktor Tsyganov, Head of the regional branch of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service in the Volga Federal District; Vladimir Ovchinnikov, First Deputy Director General of ITMCFM and Director of INI; and Oleg Trofimov, Rector of Lobachevsky University of Nizhny Novgorod.
Vladimir Ovchinnikov highlighted Lobachevsky University’s contribution to establishing INI and training personnel for the national anti-money laundering system. The INI Director also expressed the hope that the School would encourage participants to submit their papers to the International Research Paper Competition “Modern Mechanisms for Ensuring Financial Security. Russian AML/CFT System: 25 Years Safeguarding Global and National Financial Security”, held as a separate track of the International Olympiad on Financial Security.
The programme includes lectures, practical sessions and discussion platforms designed to create modern approaches to financial monitoring, develop interagency cooperation and strengthen international cooperation in financial security. Particular attention will be paid to the exchange of experience and the development of practical recommendations that may be useful to regulators, supervisory authorities and financial organisations.
The School is co-organised by Rosfinmonitoring, the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring, and the regional branch of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service in the Volga Federal District.
