Rosfinmonitoring hosts meeting of AML/CFT/CPF Interagency Commission chaired by Yury Chikhanchin

The Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) hosted a meeting of the Interagency Commission on Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and the Proliferation Financing (AML/CFT/CPF).

The meeting was chaired by Yury Chikhanchin, President of the Interagency Commission and Director of Rosfinmonitoring, who highlighted the importance of coordinated interagency efforts in preparation for the upcoming round of mutual evaluations of the Russian Federation, scheduled for 2028. 

Mr. Chikhanchin expressed his gratitude to Commission members for their active engagement in the 42nd Plenary Meeting of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), held in Moscow from May 26 to 30. 

Representatives of relevant ministries and departments, law enforcement agencies, and supervising authorities reviewed the results of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Plenary Meeting and the 42nd EAG Plenary Meeting, the planning of forthcoming activities related to the next round of the national ML/FT risk assessment, and other issues.

Attendees emphasized the relevance of establishing an understanding of jurisdiction-specific risks and threats to ensure the effectiveness and resilience of the national AML system.

Reports were delivered by experts from the International Relations Department, Supervisory Department, Risk Assessment Department, and Legal Department of Rosfinmonitoring. 

Bogdan Shablya, Head of the Financial Monitoring and Foreign Exchange Control Department of the Bank of Russia, presented findings from the sectoral risk assessment.

In addition, distinguished officers from various participating agencies were recognized and honored for their outstanding service.
