Training for Eurasian Group assessors will run at ITMCFM on July 20-24. The course brings together specialists who will study the logic of the updated FATF Methodology and practical approaches to assessing the effectiveness of national AML/CFT systems.
The programme takes participants through the key stages of assessment in sequence: risks and context, technical compliance analysis, effectiveness assessment, and the formulation of key findings and recommended actions for the assessed country.
Particular emphasis is placed on practical skills. Participants analyse data, prepare materials in teams and simulate interviews with the assessed country in a format closely resembling an actual mutual evaluation. The training also focuses on accurate interpretation of statistics, well-founded conclusions, recommended actions and a road map.
This format refreshes assessors’ knowledge and develops their practical skills in applying the FATF Standards. This is especially important ahead of the next round of EAG mutual evaluations.
