From November 24 to November 28, the events will be attended by delegations of the Group’s member states, as well as representatives of observer countries and international organizations. ITMCFM representatives are participating as part of the Russian delegation headed by Yury Chikhanchin, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service.
At the Plenary Meeting, participants will summarize the results of the EAG’s activities for 2024–2025 and elect the Chairman for the next two-year term.
Delegations will also report on the progress of projects aimed at mitigating current regional money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
The Plenary Week program includes:
- A conference of law enforcement agencies and judicial authorities on the use of new technologies in the detection, investigation, and prosecution of ML/TF-related offences.
- A seminar for supervisory authorities and the private sector on the use of modern technologies in internal controls and supervisory activities in the AML/CFT sphere.
Ceremonies will also be held to recognize the winners and laureates of the following competitions: best interagency cooperation among AML/CFT competent authorities, best AML/CFT financial analysis among compliance officers, and best journalistic material on financial security.
The Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism is a FATF-Style Regional Body. Its membership includes nine states — Belarus, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The EAG also has 17 observer states and 25 international and regional organizations.
