On May 19, 2026, the second General Meeting of the International Association of Training and Methodology Centers of EAG Member States was held on the sidelines of the 44th EAG Plenary Week. The meeting was chaired by ITMCFM Director General Ivan Uvarov. The event brought together heads and representatives of national training and methodology centers that are members of the Association, the EAG Chairman, representatives of the EAG Secretariat, and delegations from EAG member and observer states.
At the opening of the meeting, participants were welcomed by EAG Chairman and Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yury Chikhanchin. He noted that during the six months since the Association was established, its members had laid the foundation for joint work to develop AML/CFT human resources across the Eurasian region. Training specialists remains a key priority in view of the new round of mutual evaluations.
The meeting focused on agreeing conceptual approaches to a unified competency framework and international certification for specialized faculty experts. These documents will form the basis for the Association’s further work to establish a common standard for training financial monitoring specialists.
Participants also presented national approaches to organizing training for financial monitoring entities in their countries and discussed further steps to develop the joint educational agenda. They also considered the Association’s organizational development, including the approval of regulations governing its management bodies and the nomination of a second Co-Chair.
Dauren Shagatayev, Vice-Rector of the AML ACADEMY Financial Monitoring Academy, was elected Co-Chair on a rotational basis.
Following the meeting, participants confirmed their readiness to continue developing the draft competency framework for faculty experts and the international certification methodology. The results are expected to be presented at the 45th EAG Plenary.
