As part of the preparatory process for the upcoming round of EAG mutual evaluations, on September 11, ITMCFM held a seminar dedicated to the revised FATF Recommendations 24 and 25 concerning beneficial ownership. The event was attended by AML experts from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Participants reviewed recent legislative amendments adopted in leading international jurisdictions and shared national experiences and best practices in implementing beneficial ownership requirements.
The seminar is a follow-up to a series of training events conducted by ITMCFM designed to raise awareness of developments in international AML/CFT standards and to facilitate their effective interpretation and application, with due regard for the legal specificities of Eurasian jurisdictions.
At the invitation of ITMCFM, EAG expert and representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, Denis Kunev delivered a lecture.
