ITMCFM, together with the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Law Enforcement Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the EAG Secretariat, held a seminar for supervisors and FIUs of Russia and Uzbekistan

A representative of the EAG Secretariat delivered a presentation explaining the requirements of international standards and sharing foreign experience in risk assessment and the application of the risk-based approach.

During the seminar, participants reviewed best national practices in conducting ML/TF/PF risk assessments, including:

  • the experience of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in conducting national ML/TF/CPF risk assessments, including the use of sectoral risk assessment results within the framework of the national risk assessment and cooperation between financial intelligence units and supervisory, law enforcement, and judicial authorities;
  • experience in conducting sectoral risk assessments: from the Russian Federation, the notary and leasing sectors were examined, while representatives of the relevant supervisory authorities of Uzbekistan shared their practices in conducting sectoral risk assessments of auditors and commercial banks.
