
The 43rd EAG Plenary Week brought together more than 300 representatives of financial intelligence units, relevant ministries and agencies, private sector, international organizations, and experts from 15 countries of the Eurasian region, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. The Russian Federation was represented by an interagency delegation headed by Yury Chikhanchin, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service.

The main outcomes included:
- Election of Yury Chikhanchin, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, as EAG Chairman for 2026–2027, and the election of Dmitry Zakharov, Director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, as Deputy Chairman.
- Approval of the priorities of the Russian Chairmanship.
- Review of the Republic of Belarus’s report on the progress of its national AML/CFT system for 2022–2025, as well as consideration of measures taken by the Eurasian Group member states in preparation for the third round of mutual evaluations.
- Assessment of monitoring results regarding emerging money laundering and terrorist financing risks in EAG member states.
- Admission of two new observers to the EAG: the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG).
ITMCFM presented several projects including initiatives supporting preparations for the third round of mutual evaluations, the development of unified approaches to AML/CFT-related educational activities, and the identification of indicators and models of money-mule financial behavior.
The week also featured ceremonies honoring the winners and laureates of the Eurasian Group’s competitions.
