German Neglyad, State Secretary and Deputy Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring), held a working meeting with a delegation from the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (RATS SCO), led by its newly appointed director Ularbek Sharsheev.
Welcoming the delegation at the Rosfinmonitoring headquarters, German Neglyad emphasized the strong collaboration between Russia’s financial intelligence unit and the RATS SCO in combating the financing of terrorism and extremism.
“We express our appreciation to the RATS SCO Executive Committee for endorsing our proposal to incorporate the issue of terrorist financing into the organization’s mandate. Rosfinmonitoring’s teams are actively analyzing the latest trends in this field, with a particular focus on the use of cryptocurrencies by terrorists,” stated German Neglyad.
Ularbek Sharsheev expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged Russia’s significant contributions to the organization’s efforts. He underscored the importance of coordinating efforts among member states to effectively address emerging challenges and threats in the SCO region.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation to mitigate the risks associated with terrorist financing.
