Ivan Kornev, Head of Secretariat of the Council of Heads of Financial Intelligence Units of the CIS Member States (CIS CH FIUs) and Deputy Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring service, took part in the events of the final stage of Commonwealth-Antiterror-2025, a joint anti-terrorist exercise among competent authorities of the CIS member states.
The exercise was organized by the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan under the auspices of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center (CIS ATC). It brought together competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the first stage, a drill on countering the financing of terrorist activities was practiced. For this purpose, financial intelligence units of the CIS countries were engaged through CIS CH FIUs.
The use of tools available, such as the International Risk Assessment Center (IRAC) and the Transparent Blockchain cryptocurrency transaction monitoring service, is aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of joint efforts of competent authorities to counter terrorist threats.
Following the operational phase, the exercise results were summarized, confirming its successful execution. The participants demonstrated a high level of coordination and cooperation, as well as effective joint actions in detecting and preventing terrorist activities.
