Federal Financial Monitoring Service delegates participate in third International Counter-Terrorism Seminar in China

Delegates of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, Boris Toropov and Ivan Anisimov, attended the third International Counter-Terrorism Seminar titled "Global Counter-Terrorism and Security Governance under New Circumstances: Regional and International Responsibilities."

The event took place from August 23 to 27 in Urumqi, People's Republic of China, with the participation of relevant ministries and agencies from over 20 countries.

Ivan Anisimov delivered a presentation on the specific characteristics of terrorist financing in Central Asia during a session on the movement of members and assets of terrorist groups. Mr Anisimov presented the results of a case study conducted by the Russian delegation for the BRICS Working Group on Counter-Terrorism (CTWG) and outlined future plans for engagement in this area.

The seminar also provided an opportunity for bilateral consultations with BRICS representatives, during which participants discussed new international projects. Special attention was given to shaping formats of cooperation in the context of Russia’s upcoming chairmanship of the CTWG BRICS Subgroup on Countering the Financing of Terrorism for 2026-2027.
