A modular training course on the Implementation of International AML/CFT Standards, hosted by ITMCFM, took place from 26 to 30 August 2019. The purpose of the course was to train and upgrade the skills of AML/CFT personnel from Vietnam, India and Laos, as well as to promote international cooperation and collaboration with Russia within the global AML/CFT system.
As part of the course, representatives of FIUs from Vietnam, India, Laos and Russia shared experiences and best practices in meeting 11 Immediate Outcomes and in preparing for and undergoing an independent risk assessment and mutual evaluations. Among the speakers were Rosfinmonitoring's leading experts.
The course ended with a round table dedicated to the sharing of experiences in improving international AML/CFT cooperation, attended by Rosfinmonitoring and ITMCFM staff, and the presentation of training completion certificates to representatives of the FIUs of Vietnam, India and Laos.
Srujani Mohanti, additional director in India's Financial Intelligence Unit, shared her impressions of the training course:
"I found the training course very useful; particularly given that India is due to undergo a mutual evaluation in 2020. We were provided with a variety of information that would enable us to better prepare for the assessment. We believe that the course materials and its content will certainly come in handy in our work to ensure the financial security of our country."
