January 23, 2018. First Meeting of the Russian Banks Association Committee on Compliance Risks and AML/CFT

Representatives of Rosfinmonitoring and International Training and Methodological Centre for Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM) took part in the first meeting of the Russian Banks Association Committee on Compliance Risks and AML/CFT held on January 23, 2018 in Moscow.

The participants of the meeting approved the provisions of the Committee, action plan for the present year and the composition of the new structure.

According to the approved draft of the provisions the Russian Banks Association Committee on Compliance Risks and AML/CFT is to address the following issues:

  • involvement of the intellectual, administrative and resource capacities of the Russian Banks Association in trouble-shooting of the most relevant problems in the field of compliance-risks and AML/CFT management;
  • elaboration of aligned ideology and policy of the Association members in the priority fields of the Committee’s performance;
  • preparation of recommendations, standards, guidelines and regulations on solution of certain tasks in this area;
  • expert evaluation of draft laws and other regulation acts in order to improve them and to make amendments to the present legislation of the Russian Federation.

The General Director of ITMCFM Oleg Ivanov informed the members of the Committee about the schedule of the events within the framework of the assessment of the national anti-money laundering system to be carried out in Russia by the FATF – Financial Action Task Force.
