Egmont Group 25th Plenary meeting was held in Sydney, Australia on 23-27 September 2018.
Among the activities held during Plenary week were working and regional group meetings and training sessions. The Plenary participants, jointly with representatives of the private sector, discussed the issues of public-private partnership in the field of AML/CFT.
The Plenary meeting ended with the signing by financial intelligence units comprising the Egmont Group of more than 50 cooperation agreements. One important outcome of the meeting was the admission of new FIUs to the Group, currently comprising 159 FIUs.
The Egmont Group highlighted Russia's contribution to the training of representatives of Russian-speaking FIUs in Eurasia. The Egmont Group/International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring joint training course "Corporate Entities and Financial Products", translated into Russian by ITMCFM, was held from 22 to 24 August 2018 at the ITMCFM office in Moscow. Ms. Henny Verbeek-Kusters (Netherlands), Egmont Group chair, presented the Certificate of Merit to the head of the Russian delegation, First Deputy Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yury Korotky.
