The Memorandum of Understanding between the network AML/CFT Institute and the Association of BRICS Business Schools (ABBS) was signed at the Plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force, held on February 22-27, 2015 in Paris.
The signing ceremony on behalf of the Russian side was attended by Yu. Chikhanchin, Director of Rosfinmonitoring ; V. Glotov, Deputy Director of Rosfinmonitoring; A. Petrenko, Head of Rosfinmonitoring's Department of International Relations; V. Godin, President of ABBS and acting dean of the State University of Management; and V. Ovchinnikov, Director of the network AML/CFT Institute.
Promoting cooperation, including in personnel training and research, and strengthening ties between BRICS educational institutions were the focus of the agreement. In particular, cooperation between the network AML/CFT Institute and educational institutions of Brazil, China, India and South Africa is expected to result in the development of joint AML/CFT training programmes. Among others, the memorandum calls for holding joint scientific and practical conferences, symposia, seminars, roundtables, etc.
The main goal behind the decision to establish the ABBS on January 31, 2009, as an initiative aimed at bringing together BRICS business schools, was to promote experience sharing and facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation and academic exchanges. The ABBS headquarters is located in the Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME) in Bangalore, India.
Professor J. Philip, dean of XIME, was elected first President of the Association.
Currently, the post of ABBS President is held by Vladimir Godin, acting dean of the State University of Management, Moscow, Russia.
The network AML/CFT Institute, with support of Rosfinmonitoring, consistently expands international cooperation with partner countries' educational institutions in combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
Yury Chikhanchin, Director of Rosfinmonitoring, holds the position of Chairman of the network AML/CFT Institute Council.
